 would have the wine tasting BEFORE the luncheon at the train station restaurant. There is so much food and (average) wine at the luncheon that you are too "full" and sleepy to appreciate the wine tasting.

Dit is de beste manier om de Douro-vallei te ervaren. Het is een reis door een van de mooiste valleien ter wereld per boot en trein. Het lokale eten en de wijn zijn voortreffelijk terwijl u geniet van een prachtig uitzicht. Onze gids Pedro was uiterst professioneel en gaf ons veel meer dan verwacht. Hij houdt van zijn werk en was de sleutel tot een perfecte vakantiedag in de Douro-vallei in Portugal. We zullen terugkomen!

De combinatie van activiteiten en verschillende manieren van vervoer was leuk (boot, trein, auto). Zeer lekkere lunch met prachtig uitzicht op de rivier. We bezochten een olijfoliemuseum en hadden daar ook een wijnproeverij. Ondanks dat onze gids Sylvia meer dan 30 minuten te laat was om ons op te halen (ze belde wel), deed ze geweldig werk en gaf ze ons een bonusbezoek aan een prachtige kerk op de terugweg naar Porto - de moeite waard om op te nemen in het programma? Om de dag compleet te maken zou het leuk zijn om ook een bezoek aan een porto landgoed toe te voegen.
