    What will you do?

    Largo do Carmo

The Largo do Carmo is one of the most beautiful squares in Lisbon. We'll learn a lot about the 1755 earthquake (the Carmo church is since that time a ruin), about the aqueduct system and all the fountains and galleries we have in Lisbon or about the 1974 democratic revolution (the last Portuguese dictator was arrested here). We’ll have the opportunity to visit the Neo-gothic Elevador de Santa Justa (built in 1902) and to enjoy beautiful views.

    Chiado district

The Chiado district is the most popular and expensive area in the old town of Lisbon. Here you can find, not only nice viewpoints but also old cafes and bookstores, boutiques, grand theaters, etc.

    Baixa district

The Baixa district was totally destroyed by the 1755 earthquake. This area was rebuilt as a grid with beautiful squares by the Marquis of Pombal (the prime minister of the king at the time). It’s the commercial heart of the city and the only flat district in the old town of Lisbon.
