Arrived early to our hotel in his immaculate VW.

Took us to all the predetermined places and added places he thought we would enjoy.

Adjusted lunch to accommodate my aversion to seafood. Argentina steak and green wine😍.

We requested suggestions for our next day and he made great recommendations.

We asked that he drop us off at somewhere other than our hotel and he recommended an awesome outdoor patio bar with a great view.

We also went to the restaurant that he recommended and it was great.

He was also a great photographer and suggested where to stop for photos. (He also knew how to operate my camera, as I did not.)

My son and I did the downhill toboggan ride in a traditional Madeira wicker basket and it was epic! This is a must do for anyone visiting Madeira.

We booked a half day private tour. Augusto picked us up at our hotel in his comfortable van. In excellent English, he shared a lot of Portuguese history and modern culture. He answered all of our questions in depth and with good humor. His tour of Pena Palace was fantastic! We spent some time on our own in Sintra, enjoying the pastries Augusto recommended while we explored the beautiful town. It was an absolutely perfect start to our trip.
