Absolutely the best tour in Portugal ... Rui took us to all the surrounding area of Sintra including some of the best views in Portugal ..... including the western most spot in Europe..... where the world seems to end and begin at the same time.

My group and I decided to see the beautiful villages near Obidos castle. We were greeted with excellent personal service from the moment Rui (the tour operator) picked us up at our vacation rental. The Mercedes Van was comfortable and roomy. Rui was extremely knowledgeable and told us about legends and folklore of the areas. We set out past Obidos Castle to the beautiful village of Ourem where there was a medieval castle remains and breathtaking views of the magnificent vineyards and countryside to the ocean. We had a coffee and took our time talking to the archeologists and absorbing the beautiful scenery. This place was a hidden treasure--no crowds just a few people were there. We then ventured to Tomar a quaint village in the countryside. Rui had local music lightly playing on the CD which enhanced the winding picturesque roads as we continued to Alcobaca, Batalha and Fatima. Stopping in each village as he explained the interesting stories of each village. He would take pictures of our group with our phones. He suggested great places to eat and he would say take your time ...enjoy. Then we went down to the coast to Nazare....it was magnificent! He told us about the 100+ wave that a surfer surfed which made history! Rui showed us the best places for viewing and again took amazing pictures of us....he also is a great photographer. He made our trip enjoyable and it was lovely to be able to spend time with a local whose family had been there for generations. He was kind and answered all our questions including the history of the regions and the folklore only the locals knew as it was not published. Rui is a true professional and will make your trip an amazing memory that you will never forget. I would suggest booking early as he has a large following.
